Template Originals No.1 – put to good use

I’ve been tracking traffic to my blog and looking at how people are finding my freebies. I stumbled upon this blog the other day and found that they had hosted a template challenge featuring my first template, Template Originals No.1. How cool is that?

I love seeing the template in action. If anyone has a layout you’d like to share, please post a link in the comments.

An exciting update and a new template freebie

If you’ve been following my blog, you’ll remember that my first template freebie was developed from a layout that I designed for a recent Designer Spotlight challenge at Oscraps featuring Danielle Young. Well, I’m excited to announce that I am now a member of Danielle’s Creative Team!

dy-granolagirl-prev.jpg Her latest kit is called “Granola Girl” I was just released on the May 22nd. Since I just joined the team and wasn’t able to use the kit in time for the release, but couldn’t wait to scrap with it. This kit is perfect for camping trips, backyard barbeques and anything “outdoorsy”, but you could easily use it for any occasion. I just love a kit with versatility.

I decided to scrap my daughters first trip to our local pumpkin patch last October. I love the way it turned out, so I decided to offer this layout as my next template. So as promised…

Template Originals No. 2 Basic RGB
It will only be free for a limited time, so be sure to download before the link expires. You can download the files here.

As in my last tutorial, I encourage you to experiment with different blending modes on various layers. You’ll see that I have some layers set in the template as I used them in my layout, but try different options for various elements until you find something you like depending on the colors and hues you’re using. I seem to use linear burn a lot lately so I guess it’s my new favorite. Enjoy, and I’d love to see what you create with the template. Post a link in the comments so I can see your layouts and be sure to visit Danielle’s Blog!

Some exciting news and a freebie!

I had been planning to post again much sooner, but I’ve been wrapped up in backend php confusion.  I’ve been trying to set up a store so that I’ll be ready for the release of my firt kit, Boundless™ and with my limited knowledge of php and well, code in general, it’s been a challenge. The simple plugins don’t offer all of the features I need, and the more complex ones are well… more complex ;) I’ve learned a lot through the process of creating this blog, but I’ve still got a long way to go. Wish me luck!

I also have some exciting news to share! Fei Fei’s Stuff has given me the opportunity to be a guest member of her CT for the month of September. This is my first CT, so it’s very exciting. If you aren’t already familiar with her work, you should definitely visit her blog as well as her store at Oscraps.

And now, on to the freebie. My first Mini Kit! I’m offering my Mini Kit Original No. 1 as a freebie for a limited time, so get it while you can. If you’ve been wondering what to expect from my upcoming kit, Boundless™, this mini kit offers a glimpse. Enjoy, and feel free to leave a comment to let me know what you think. You can download a copy of the files link expired :( .
