Well, I haven’t been blogging much lately so thought I should let you know what I’ve been up to. I have been promising that my first kit would be available soon since I started this blog. As you may have noticed, it hasn’t happened yet.
At first, I was so caught up in getting the blog theme designed and learning how to use wordpress. Then I had to find an ecommerce store system that would do what I wanted (will be using zencart btw) and getting that theme to match the wordpress theme, all the while wrestling with my inner perfectionist. Long story short, I burned myself out! The store still doesn’t look quite the way I want, but it will do for now.
A few weeks ago, I finally sat down to design Boundless™. I’ve had the general theme in mind for months, but shaping that into a scrap kit proved to be more challenging than I first expected. My plan had been to design a book of my daughter’s first months, and design the elements as I went along. After going in circles for a couple of weeks, I realized that my approach wasn’t working. I was too caught up in the details of page layout, and couldn’t concentrate on the overalll theme and elements that I wanted to create. I decided to put the book aside and just put this kit together. It has been 4 days now, and I’m happy to say that I am fianally making some progress. I hope to have the kit ready to go in the next week or so.
